The text of the Introit
You have mercy on all, O Lord, and hate none of the things which You have made, overlooking the sins of men for the sake of repentance, and sparing them: because You are the Lord our God. Ps. Have pity on me, O God; have pity on me, for in You I take refuge.

Wisdom 11
Verse 24. Repentance. If people neglect to reform their conduct in this world, they must expect to be treated with all severity in the other.
Verse 25. It. Sin and disorder is the work of man, deserving hatred. C. --- God created nothing evil, nor is there any but one God, as the Manichees pretended. W.
Verse 27. All. Awaiting their amendment, and unwilling to destroy thy creatures. C. xii. 10. Hence thou didst not exterminate the Egyptians at once. C.
