Introit of Third Sunday in Lent

Psalm 24. 15-16

My eyes are ever towards the Lord: for He shall pluck my feet out of the snare: look Thou upon me, and have mercy on me; for I am alone and poor. Ps. To Thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul: in Thee, O my God, I put my trust, let me not be ashamed. Glory be to the Father.

Verse 15. Lord. Our prayers are not heard, because they are not like this: fervant, incessant, and humble. We have all to fear from our passions, which are the most dangerous snares. Bert.

Verse 16. Alone. Desolate, (Ps. xxi. 21.) without any assistant. H. — Such is man destitute of God’s grace. W.
